The Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA) is the first step in driving better IT infrastructure across the Federal government. In fact, 41% of Feds say it will improve investment decisions and 52% believe it will make IT more accountable. All good, but the November 2015 House Oversight and Government Reform FITARA Implementation Scorecard showed there is much room for improvement. The acquisition component of FITARA is receiving less attention than other aspects, and may be a key factor contributing to the low scores. How has the FITARA baseline changed how agency C-suites coordinate with their industry partners on acquisition? And, how can industry partners rise to the changes FITARA brings to agency IT procurement practices? Join Us March 30 – FITARA Forum On Wednesday, March 30, EMC’s Jean Edwards, Director, Business Development & Program Capture, will be speaking on the “Better Acquisition. Better Services. Lower Costs. What More?” panel at the FITARA Forum in Washington, D.C. The panel will discuss the acquisition components of FITARA – why they receive the least amount of attention, why acquisition challenges contribute to difficulty retaining IT talent – and the steps agencies should be taking as they make progress implementing FITARA guidance. It’s not too late to register for the FITARA Forum. Hope to see you there. Author information |
