VMworldVMworld is right around the corner, and I know many of you are going -- or at least *wish* you were going!   VMworld has evolved into one of the premier industry events for us infrastructure types -- great content, great crowd -- and great conversations!

As part of VMware's software-defined data center (SDDC) strategy, virtualization is quickly expanding from just being about compute, to embracing both networking and storage.   Prior to my officially joining VMware, I had the pleasure of working with the storage team on a number of fun topics.

At VMworld,  I'll be helping the team to host a small number of NDA-style feedback sessions at, all around VMware's near-term plans with software-defined storage.

We did something very similar at EMC World last May, and it was truly fantastic: we had great conversations with some really smart and passionate people, and we were absolutely delighted with amazingly insightful feedback.

Time well spent.  We couldn't have been happier with the results, and our guests seemed to have been equally enthused!

We'd like to try and do this again at VMworld.  Interested?

These sessions aren't always a good fit for everyone, so here's the profile we're looking for:

- you are very interested in virtualization, storage and related infrastructure issues
- you are responsible for a cross-functional team, or perhaps a lead architect type.
- you want to better understand VMware's plans around software-defined storage
- you want to provide insightful and pointed feedback around VMware's current storage plans
- you are not shy and enjoy a fast-paced technical discussion

We'll be running three interactive sessions: one for larger enterprises, one for more modestly sized companies, and a third one for partners.  Figure about 90 minutes to two hours of your time.  We'd like to keep it to one (or maybe two) people from any one organization -- space is very limited as the sessions are small, e.g. 6-8 people.

Interested?  If so, please drop me a note at chollis@vmware.com-- sooner than later, as we were over-booked the last time we did this.  And don't forget to bring your opinions!

Hoping to see you at VMworld!
